Michigan State University

Providing online synchronous instructional coverage for a senior colleague’s section during a medical leave, adapting interactive digital writing curriculum into the existing course structure, and ensuring instructional continuity while coordinating assessment and student engagement.

Integrating GenAI technology into experiential in-class activities and introductory web-writing and multimodal content creation to enhance students’ academic capabilities for inquiry, discovery, and communication.

First-year writing course designed to develop students’ inquiry, discovery, and communication skills through a series of five conventional/unconventional writing assignments.

Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen

First-year composition course themed around multimodal communication and researched essays through critical thinking and teamwork skills improvements.

Introducing students to writing in technical and professional workplace settings: memoranda, business letters, research and business proposals, and graphical/document design.

Texas Woman’s University

Research-focused academic writing course. Created an anxiety-free educational environment through workshops and labor-oriented activities.

Merged upper-division undergraduate and graduate course investigating digitally mediated text analysis, theory, production, and pedagogy. Designed interactive media composition assignments using multimodal tools and Google Earth. Contributed to the Quakertown Meeting at the Denton Civic Center.

First-year composition course themed around various academic writing genres: learning and literacy narrative, primary research, rhetorical argument, and multimodal presentation.

Consulted with students at any level in diverse academic writing genres; tutored through face-to-face, Zoom-synchronous, and asynchronous sessions.

Embedded writing tutor for graduate students in writing master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.

Administrative and Research Experience

Selected to serve on the Academic Program Review and General Education committee, analyzing student data, contributing to curriculum renovations, and providing in-person class instructional coverage.

Reviewing and advising on the MSU FYW Program for the University Academic Program Review, the Writing Studio course initiative, and revisions to curriculum and learning goals.

Assessed department-wide first-year composition programs, collecting data, evaluating course outcomes, and reporting scores.

Supported multimodal composition courses, collaborating with IT to improve digital pedagogy accessibility; managed hardware/software inventory and troubleshooting.
