Research Interests
I examine how emerging meaning-making technologies transform the ways writers think, compose, self-express, and make rhetorical choices, and how to educate individuals to exercise autonomous agency through digital meaning-making tools.
Research Areas
AI-Mediated Rhetorical Agency and Critical AI Literacy
Multilingual Writing and Narrative
Digital Rhetoric, Interactive Narrative, and Game Studies
Current Direction
Interactive Narrative, Generative AI, and Technical and Professional Communication
My research extends narrative and interactive narrative media pedagogy into technical and professional communication, where narrative has often been excluded in favor of factual and skills-oriented genres. I approach narrative not as an addition to technical documents for a specific purpose, but as an information-design strategy to make specialized knowledge more accessible, usable, and responsive to broader, more diverse audiences. Building on this work, I examine how fostering meta-awareness and contextual understanding of meaning by facilitating interactive narrative creation through mediated writing with GenAI can serve as a critical framework for technical communication, navigating beyond agency-replaced prompt engineering to train eventual context engineers.
